Dr. Al-Aboosi performed a very thorough periodontal examination for the evaluation of gum disease around my implants. He is clearly a highly experienced periodontist with an excellent chairside manner. He explained the diagnosis clearly and took the time to answer all my questions. On another note, the office was very clean. I highly recommend him to anyone needing specialized periodontal care

What Are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are small titanium posts that are surgically placed into the jawbone to serve as a replacement for the roots of missing teeth. Once the implants have bonded with the jawbone, artificial teeth, such as crowns, bridges, or dentures, can be attached to the implants to complete the restoration. Dental implants are an excellent choice for those looking for a long-lasting and natural-looking solution to missing teeth. Whether you’re looking for dental implants for seniors or full mouth dental implants near you – Shady Groves Peridontics is right for you!

Benefits of Dental Implants

There are many benefits to choosing dental implants as a solution for missing teeth. Some of the benefits include:

  • Improved Appearance: Dental implants look and feel just like your natural teeth, making it nearly impossible for anyone to tell the difference.
  • Improved Functionality: Dental implants allow you to eat, speak, and smile with confidence. You won’t have to worry about slipping dentures or bridges that can be uncomfortable and inconvenient.
  • Durability: With proper care, dental implants can last a lifetime, making them a cost-effective solution in the long run.
  • Preserved Jawbone: Unlike traditional bridges or dentures that rest on top of the gums, dental implants are surgically placed into the jawbone, preserving the bone and preventing further deterioration.
  • Improved Oral Health: Unlike traditional bridges that require reduction of healthy teeth, dental implants do not require the reduction of healthy teeth, preserving your oral health and overall wellbeing.

The Dental Implant Procedure

We offer comprehensive implant dentistry near you, from the initial consultation to the final restoration. The procedure typically involves several stages, including:

  • Initial Consultation: During the initial consultation, our dental professionals will assess your oral health and determine if dental implants are the right solution for you. We will also discuss your goals and expectations, and develop a personalized treatment plan that meets your needs.
  • Implant Placement: During the implant placement procedure or dental implant surgery, the dental implants are surgically placed into the jawbone. The implant placement procedure is typically performed under local anesthesia or IV sedation, depending on your individual needs and comfort level.
  • Healing Period: After the implant placement, a healing period is necessary to allow the implants to bond with the jawbone. This typically takes several months, during which time you will wear a temporary restoration.
  • Implant Restoration: Once the implants have fully bonded with the jawbone, the final restoration can be attached to the implants. This can include a crown, bridge, or denture, depending on your individual needs.
  • Follow-Up Care: After the final restoration, regular follow-up appointments are necessary to monitor your oral health and ensure the success of your dental implants.

At Shady Grove Periodontics, we are committed to providing our patients with the highest quality of periodontal care.
